Do you think coraline feels scared of her other mother and other father in this weird other home and they have button eyes? If I was her I run away and lock the door and throw the key into a dumpster or down a drain or maybe even melt it

You know, there's something strange about the fact that the "others" have button eyes and that they don't produce a reflection in the mirror. It's like they can't ever see what's really going on.

Maybe they are vampires. Vampires do not have refelctions in the mirror and cannot really tell if they are going to get caught or something.
