From rules to try to be mild-mannered, and seems like it is from someone very irritated...
Well, maybe not so irritated but concerned about her brother.
I think the book rules was inspired by the title because of what Jason has to go through with the picture drawings i his book. Not being able to talk so he has to use rules to help him communicate with others.
