I think the reason the reason he must go through the big fight is because it his his family's legacy and he has ssto do it in order to become a man like his father and face his fear.
I think that Manolo did this because he did not want to go down in history as a coward- he wanted to live up to his father's legend. I also believe that part of the reason was because he wanted to make everybody happy.

I think the reason Manolo must go throughthe big fight is because if he doesn't everyone will be disappointed and think hes not as great as hisdad.
